  •  Notes
    • The 1851 census is not proven as for Mary WARBURTON nee KIRK, but is the best match for any Mary WARBURTON, a widow, living in the Crewe area at that time. Mary is correctly recorded for age, status and birthplace on the 1861 census

As we know, there are many times when the wrong age is recorded. Perhaps in this case it was the head of the house who said what her age was and he might have just been guessing. As Mary was listed as a Visitor perhaps she was related in some way to the family she was visiting, or was simply there in her capacity as a nurse . The wife of the head of the house was Lettice CORNS who married James PIGGOTT in 1843 and at the moment there is nothing to show that she was in any way connected to Mary. .
